COVID-19 Information

WCRI 2022 will take place as a hybrid event with an onsite contingent based in the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC).

Delegates attending in person will be required to meet all travel and entry requirements as stipulated by the South African Department of Home Affairs.

To protect our delegates and staff onsite, COVID-19 protocols will be strictly adhered to. This includes regular hand-sanitising, mandatory wearing of face masks, social distancing and any other necessary protocols.

Delegates wishing to attend the Conference in-person will need to meet one of the following three requirements to confirm a negative COVID-19 status and be allowed entry to the CTICC:

  • Present a valid negative COVID-19 PCR or Rapid Flow test result not older than 72 hours
  • Present proof of recovery
  • Present a valid vaccination record

COVID-19 testing facilities will be available nearby or at the CTICC. Only the results of a PCR or professionally administered rapid lateral flow antigen test will be accepted. Results from off-the-shelf or DIY testing kits will not be accepted.  Costs of testing will be for the delegates own account.

Proof of vaccination will be required to attend the Gala Dinner.

As COVID regulations and protocols are subject to change, we recommend staying up to date by visiting the official resources available online.

Please visit the official Department of Health COVID-19 resource portal for up to date information and changes.
